Where can I find out more about the Reading Levels?

The reading levels are aligned to the Lexile levels:

Level 1 (0) "My First Words"
Level 2 (1) "Discovering Reading"
Level 3 (2) "Reading Is Fun"
Level 4 (3) "Keep Reading"
Level 5 (4) "Galloping Ahead"
Level 6 (5) "Fluent Reader"
Level 7 (6) "Independent Reader"
Level 8 (6+) "Proficient Reader"

In addition, there is a mapping document to the Oxford book band colours, reading levels and Fountas & Pinnell Guided Reading levels:

NOTE: The word count of the Pickatale books matches the average word count of the books published in the Pickatale Library. Lexile scores match the Oxford Lexile scores for the first four levels; starting from Level 5, the Lexile scores for Pickatale books are based on the analysis of books in the Pickatale Library
